University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is a nationally-acclaimed research institution that is dedicated to the discovery and distribution of knowledge. UIC is Chicago’s only public research university, so students are encouraged to utilize campus resources for innovation.

UIC’s annual Maurice Prize Competition fosters innovation and creativity among undergraduates. During the competition, these students have the opportunity to lead a research project of their own choosing. Students can execute their strategy with a team or on an individual basis. The winner receives a $5,000 award for demonstrating the deepest level of understanding and problem solving.
