Academic Accelerator Program
Ready to empower your international studies? The AAP is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support.
As a student in the Academic Accelerator, you’ll receive:
- The right amount of support for your academic and English-speaking needs
- A full year’s worth of college credits
- Access to courses exclusively for international students
- English-language help with words you need to know for your classes
- A mix of classes with international and U.S. students

*Some UIC majors and colleges may require a higher GPA and additional coursework for admission into their programs. Students are notified of higher GPA requirements upon arrival. All students must also pass the English requirement, ENGL160 and ENGL161, to progress.
To apply for the Academic Accelerator Program at UIC, you should have at least the following qualifications:*

Applications with scores below the published minimums are not automatically denied and will still receive consideration from the college.
