Spring 2021 Graduate Direct Deadline Extensions

Please note the following programs have updated their application deadlines for academic admissibility to October 1, 2020 from the previous deadline of September 1, 2020. This deadline will be in effect for any deferrals and new applications. Admissions will be processing new applications for Spring 21 for these programs except where indicated that it is deferral only.

College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs

  • Public Administration – MPA
  • Urban Planning and Public Policy – MUPP

College of Education

  • Language, Literacies, & Learning – MED

College of Engineering

  • Civil Engineering – MS
  • Electrical & Computer Engineering – MS
  • Energy Engineering – MEE
  • Industrial Engineering – MS
  • Materials Engineering – MS
  • Mechanical Engineering – MS

College of Business Administration

  • Accounting – MS
  • Business Administration – MBA
  • Business Analytics – MSBA (deferral only)
  • Finance – MS
  • Management Information Systems – MSMIS (deferral only)
  • Marketing – MSM
  • Supply Chain and Operations Management – MSSCOM

As a reminder any student with an offer of admission has until December 11, 2020 to deposit and submit I-20 documents for Spring!

Graduate Direct GRE Requirement Updates

Effective immediately the following programs will not require a GRE with app submission for UIC Graduate Direct for the Spring 2021 app extension and Fall 2021. This is a pilot, and will be re-assessed for Spring ’22 and Fall ’22 at a later date. Also note that there are many programs that already did not require the GRE.

College of Business Administration  (MSBA and MIS for Fall ’21 only):

  • Accounting – MS
  • Business Administration – MBA
  • Business Analytics – MSBA (deferrals for Spring only, Fall ’21 GRE waived)
  • Finance – MS
  • Management Information Systems – MSMIS (deferrals for Spring only, Fall ’21 GRE waived)
  • Marketing – MSM
  • Supply Chain and Operations Management – MSSCOM

College of Engineering

(note that Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering, and Civil and Materials Engineering already did not require GRE)

  • Chemical Engineering (Fall ’21 no app extension)
